The Jeep Wave

I was visiting a friend in Bismarck last weekend and as we were driving around in my Jeep she noticed I did this ridiculous two-fingered wave every time I passed another Jeeper. She asked me if I was in a cult or something and that is when I had to explain to her that as a Jeeper we have our own wave.
Ah, yes the legendary Jeep Wave! It's like the secret handshake of the open road, the universal signal that says, "Hey there, fellow adventurer, I see you're driving a Jeep, and so am I! Let's acknowledge our shared love for rugged terrain and wind in our hair.
Picture yourself cruising down the highway in your trusty Jeep, feeling like the captain of your own off-road ship. Suddenly, you spot another Jeep approaching from the opposite direction. It's not just any car passing by; it's a Jeep, too!

Your instinct kicks in, and you raise your hand from the steering wheel, fingers slightly curled in a friendly salute. It's not a full-on "stop the presses" wave; it's more like a casual, one-handed "I'm too cool to use both hands" kind of wave.
First, you raise your hand off the steering wheel in the most nonchalant, yet unmistakable way. It's like a subtle "Hey there, fellow adventurer!" greeting. But here's where the comedy comes in: The Jeep Wave isn't just any old wave. It's a bit like an exaggerated, over-the-top, full-on theatrical production.
You extend your fingers high above the steering wheel as if you're about to catch a falling star. Then, with a flourish, you give your fellow Jeepster a grand, sweeping wave that's part Queen's royal wave and part "I just won the lottery!" celebration.
Meanwhile, the other Jeep driver reciprocates with their own extravagant Jeep Wave. It's like a dueling wave performance as if you're both trying to out-wave each other. Who can do the most ridiculous wave without crashing into a mailbox?

It's not just a simple "hello" – it's a theatrical display of camaraderie as if you're saying, "We're part of this exclusive Jeep club, and we're going to celebrate it in the goofiest way possible!"
And what makes it even more comical is when you're in a traffic jam with lots of Jeeps. You'll see a chain reaction of exaggerated waves, like a Jeep parade that's somehow taking place in the middle of a gridlock. It's a sight to behold!
So, the next time you're behind the wheel of your Jeep and you feel that spontaneous urge to acknowledge a fellow Jeeper, remember the Jeep Wave. It's like a friendly Jeep-to-Jeep Morse code that says, "We're in this wild, bumpy ride together, my friend!" And it's all part of the comical charm that comes with being part of the Jeep tribe.

Its supposed to be 2 fingers and your thumb when held up makes the letter J for the oncoming viewer… 🤷🏻♂️
